Metra Consulting Engineers Company was founded in 1984 in order to plan and supervise the transportation projects with the close co-operation of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways to conduct the comprehensive studies on roads, railways, and metro – which all used to be conducted by foreign consultants before the Islamic revolution of Iran. Gradually, after gaining experience, Metra turned into one of the most significant consulting companies in providing and presenting exclusive practical solutions in diverse technical, development and management fields of transportation industry in Iran
In 2018, Shiva Atlas Consulting Engineers merged into Metra Consulting Engineers; thus, such acquisition boosted Metra in the realm of constructions and buildings. The mission of Metra Consulting Engineers as the sole consultant of Atlas Iranian Economic Group is to help the group in order to create buildings and constructions based on sustainable principles and perform intelligent design and supervision
