Project Description

The contract for studies and services of workshop, laboratory and high supervision of our Doroud-Khorramabad railway construction project was concluded between Metra Consulting Engineers Company and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development – Transportation Infrastructure Construction and Development Company. The investor of this project is the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development-Transportation Infrastructure Construction and Development Company.

Plan Objectives

 Rail development of northwest to southwest connection lines and connection of Doroud railway to Khorramabad and connection to railway lines in the south of the country and increase of Doroud axis capacity of Khorramabad

Description of Metra Consulting Engineers Services

Route design and monitoring include:
Geological, hydrological and hydraulic studies, 1: 2000 mapping, route nailing, design of trenches and long embankments, study of natural and proprietary features
Design of path buildings includes:
Design of 28 valley and river bridges, 31 intersections and 14 tunnels with a total length of 19 km (in this project there are 4 tunnels with a length of 3 to 4.5 km) and 4 emergency tunnels with a total length of 15 km, Safety studies and ventilation of railway tunnels
Monitoring services:
Planning services, determination of work execution method, work progress control, workshop supervision and engineering, work referral, coordination, execution, temporary delivery, quality control, estimation, control of payments and expenses, legal affairs of contracts, related to interest period Trial vector (warranty period) and final delivery

Project features

The length of the project is 114 km.
The number of bridges is 28 bridges.
The maximum length of the bridge is 110 meters.
The number of tunnels is 14 tunnels.
The maximum length of the tunnel is 4450 meters.
The implementation method is NATM tunnel.
The number of stations (rail) is 7 stations (including 2 first-class stations, 1 second-class station and 4 third-class stations).
The largest railway tunnel in the country is located at 490 + 50 km with a length of 5.4 km and the longest opening of the Iranian railway bridge to the opening of 110 meters is located in this route. Safety studies and ventilation of railway tunnels have been carried out for the first time in the country in this project, according to which, in order to maintain safety and proper ventilation conditions for operators and provide the necessary conditions for locomotives, it is necessary to build an emergency tunnel parallel to the main tunnel. .
